Oh, the earthiness of gritty mixed media materials on a substrate that alreadyhas a glorious patina from mother nature.

These panels where once the two sides of a hollow door, hauled home from the beach! They were cleaned and scrubbed super well before I began painting so that every element added sticks and integrates beautifully.

Like us humans, these panels have been gouged and rubbed smoothed by life, they’re not passive.

I chose to leave the edges raw, for those of you who, like me kinda gravitate to a little grit amongst the beauty. These panels are soul inspired, alive with colour, texture, messages, symbols and LIFE!

For the discerning collector, someone who loves and appreciates raw AND sophisticated! Gritty and pretty.
